Members and guests were treated to two special activities at the May WON lunch held Thursday, May 21.

Sedi Samiei, Master Gardener from the University of Florida Extension kicked off the lunch by providing an outstanding presentation about how to grow and maintain a “Florida Friendly Landscape”.  Did you know that 60% of water consumption goes to lawns and landscapes in our area?  Or that the Florida population is expected to DOUBLE by 2060? Then there was the debut of the WONda’s Estate Sale filled with treasures donated by WON members.  Baubles included household goods, Christmas items, paintings (including a numbered Robert Kincaid oil painting) and four Hitchcock chairs.  WON members served as volunteer “Riveters” assisting with the sale.  Monies made from the event which will be funneled back into the club for future activities.  The event was presented by The Ways and Means Committee co chaired by Charlene Kingsnorth and Lee Ann Shobe and “Riverters” Carol Newton, Cathy Hohner, Bonnie Bartlett, Marie Larson and Cindy Arnold.
